Pharmacological regulation of mitochondrial nitric oxide synthase

摘要
The activity of mtNOS can be modulated pharmacologically. Chlorpromazine (one dose 10 mg/kg, 1h) inhibited 36-48% mitochondrial NO production, increased 25-38% O-2 uptake and did not modify the amount of mtNOS protein detected by Western blot. Enalapril (30 mg/kg/day, up to 15 d) increased NO production in kidney, liver and heart mitochondria. In kidney mitochondria, mtNOS activity was 5 times increased and mtNOS protein 125% increased.
