摘要
R134a is widely used in mobile air-conditioning and it has higher global warming potential of which doesn't satisfy MAC directive (2006/40/EG) of global warming potential (GWP) value less than 150. Industry has, therefore, begun searching for alternatives with a lesser GWP. Material compatibility concerns of various components were identified and analyzed using thermo economic consideration. In the present work, effect of compression ratio on the strength of variousmaterials has been investigated with the aim to reduce flammability. The paper concludes that the substitution of alternative material R1234yf is thermo economically justified in mobile air-conditioning. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
