First example of linear strings of equidistant gold atoms in crystals of [(2,4,6-Me3C6H2NC)(2)Au] [Au(GeCl3)(2)]

摘要
Insertion of GeCl2 into the Au-Cl bond of (mesityl isocyanide)gold(I) chloride, followed by a ligand redistribution, leads to the title compound, which crystallizes in strings of alternating cations and anions with linear chains of equidistant gold atoms (Au1-Au2 = 3.435 Angstrom).
