Learning Vocabulary through Context: an Investigation of Context-Related Strategies Use by HVC Students in China

摘要
Vocabulary is the foundation to build learners' language proficiency and it is essential to improve learners' language ability. According to surveys, a lack of vocabulary and effective instruction has become a serious problem in learning English for Chinese higher vocational college students'. The research probed the use of context-related strategies according to Schmitt's taxonomy by higher vocational college students. It indicates that use of context-related strategies is an effective way for higher vocational college students to enlarge their vocabulary and activate their learning.
