摘要
A modification to the NACE International test procedure for determining the threshold stress intensity factor (K-ISSC) in assessing the sulfide stress cracking (SSC) resistance of low-alloy tubular steels was developed based on the use of Heady's second relationship for K-ISSC calculation. It was shown that only initial and equilibrium crack length, as well as initial wedge load, are needed to determine the K-ISSC value. Critical flaw sizes for steels investigated for use in inspection of tubulars were estimated from obtained K-ISSC values.
