摘要
Postulated 30 years ago, the highly reactive intermediate 1 of the Fe(CO)5-catalyzed alkene isomerization was observed for the first time in solution by NMR spectroscopy. The ability to generate and monitor such reactive species opens the way for detailed investigations of this important reaction.
