ELECTRONIC-STRUCTURES OF C60BR6, C60BR8, C60BR24

Using the universal parameter tight-binding method, we have investigated the electronic structures of C60Br6, C60Br8 and C60Br24 which have been synthesized recently. It is found that the electronic states of C-Br ppsigma bonds mix with those of C-C pppi bonds, and all these states form the closed shell structures of C60Br6, C60Br8 and C60Br24. It is also found that the density of states at the highest occupied state of C60Br24 which displays T(h) symmetry is high.
