A chromatographic method is described for the RPLC analysis of complex mixtures of alkyl polyethyleneglycol ethers. Solutes are separated according to both their hydrophobic and hydrophilic chains, in gradient elution mode using acetonitrile / water binary mobile phases. The interest of the evaporative light scattering detection is discussed for the quantitative analysis of such solutes. Study of detector response and optimization of working conditions made it possible to obtain good reproducibility of analyses and interesting detection limit of the chromatographic method.
