摘要：
Many project managers are conscious of the benefits that projects can obtain from information provided by a pre-kickoff requirements gathering phase. Unfortunately this phase is seldom done for small to medium sized automation projects. In part, this can be attributed to a lack of knowledge as to what requirements gathering entails and where it belongs in the life cycle of the project.
