摘要
The paper describes Six Sigma system and its application at Litija Spinning Mill. The introduction of the Six Sigma system includes training of 5 candidates as improvement project managers (Six Sigma Black Belt). In addition to training, the candidates worked on pilot improvement projects, which they successfully finished. Quantitative results of the pilot projects were higher productivity of the spinning mill by means of the systematic improvement of given process specifications (reduction of the loss of spindle-hours by 41%) and higher productivity of preliminary spinning through the improvement of planning lots (reduction of hours used per production unit by 5%). Pilot projects produced immeasurable results reflected in improving work conditions at the spinning mill and in the introduction of a new, more accurate method for quality measurement of yarn. Thanks to the successfully finished training of the project managers and the pilot projects the company obtained new insights into process optimization and quality improvement which will be applied in the future.
