摘要
Adhesion of erythrocytes to microvascular endothelium is hypothesized as a key factor in the vaso-occlusive disorders of sickle cell anemia. Prevention of adhesion, which can be promoted by inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha or histamine, may take the form of either blockade of adhesive receptors induced by stimulation or by control of the intracellular signaling cascade(s) that causes the expression of these receptors.
