摘要
This research aimed to analyze what knowledge and teaching practices are built in the context of the visual arts of a public preschool in the urban area of Sao Luis do Maranhao. To answer this question, a literature review and field research was carried out with a qualitative approach. It was based by the contributions of the national legislature: RCNEI (BRASIL, 1998); DCNEIS (BRASIL, 2010); BNCC (BRASIL, 2017) and the following researchers: Ostetto (2011), Gauthier (2013), Tardif (2014), Pilar (2014) and Barbosa (2015). The analysis of the data revealed that the educator has enabled children to have diverse artistic experiences, through music, theater, dance, cinema and literature. Pedagogical activities are articulated with other areas of knowledge. This includes, for example, the didactic project, entitled: "Educacao ambiental: reciclar e preservar" (Environmental education: recycle and preserve), in which children participated in art workshops and carried out various artistic productions in the field of Visual Arts.
