摘要
Introduction of Embedded Generation to the power generation is a recent innovative change happening in Singapore. Distributed generation, normally referred as Embedded Generation in Singapore can be implanted at customers' premises for their own use of electricity. This paper presents how Singapore ensures a safe and secure power system network on connecting embedded generation in parallel to the main power grid. This research project was carried out under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer (PE) from Singapore together with an academic Professor. A pharmaceutical company from Singapore has been taken as a client for this project. First, detailed studies have been done on their existing electrical network of the client. Then a feasibility, research has been done for satisfying the expectations of the client based on the rules and regulations of Singapore power industry. ETAP is a power system simulation software which is one of the industrially accepted software has been used for the analysis of technical parameters. After comprehensive studies and analysis, the client has been given recommendations for connecting a new embedded generator at their premise in parallel with the Singapore power grid.
