摘要
This Study aims to reveal university students' understanding of some electricity concepts. Brief Electricity and Magnetism Assessment (BEMA) developed by Chabay and Sherwood was tested to 31 undergraduate students in the 3 semester at Universitas Sebelas Maret, who have taken electrical and magnetic base courses. The method used in this research is qualitative by analyzing students' answers, drawing and reasoning, and the result of the interview. We found that there are several conceptions of students to determine the direction of the electric field. Students who give incorrect answers and reasoning about the direction of the electric field using the vector method. Consequently, most students assume that the electric field is caused by the electric force.
