摘要：
We define by means of the affine Lie algebras a(infinity) and b(infinity) a linear operator on the algebra Sym of symmetric functions sending Schur S-functions to Schur P-functions. This operator is then expressed as a differential operator of infinite order, using an involution of Sym related to <(sl)over cap>(2).
