Overview of studies on socio-environmental vulnerability to extreme rainfall events

摘要
In recent years, the number of studies on hydrological natural disasters has grown considerably worldwide, expanding their methods and analysis techniques. In this context, this article aims, through a systematic review, to analyze how studies on social and environmental vulnerability to these events (floods, floods and flooding) have been developed. The bibliographic databases Web of Science, Scielo, Scopus, Science Direct were consulted. The results show that there is no scientific consensus regarding the use of social vulnerability indicators. The concept of vulnerability is present in the studies, which is not entirely true of environmental susceptibility. More than 50% of the studies were published in the last six years and focused on countries with high amounts of rainfall disasters, which highlights the alerts and attention given to the topic. Regarding the methods used, mathematical modeling predominates, with emphasis on deterministic models and wide use of geotechnolo-gical ones.
