Synthesis and crystal structure of lithium ethylenediaminetetraacetatobismuthate(III) tetrahydrate

摘要
The LiBi(Edta) . 4H(2)O complex was synthesized for the first time, and its crystal structure was determined. The structure consists of Li(H2O)(2)(+) aqua cations, [Bi(Edta)](-) complex anions, and crystal water molecules. The coordination number of the Bi atom in the complex is equal to 7. The Li(H2O)(2)(+) cations and neighboring [Bi(Edta)](-) complex anions are united into zigzag polymeric chains through the carbonyl oxygen atoms (O(2) and O(8)'). The polymeric chains form infinite layers, with crystal water molecules between them, through bridging bonds with the O(6)' carbonyl oxygen atoms of neighboring chains.
