Synthesis of certain 1,3,4-oxadiazoles as potential antitubercular and antimicrobial agents

摘要：
Diphenyl acetic acid 1 on esterification gave ethyl diphenyl acetate 2, which on reaction with hydrazine hydrate yielded starting compound diphenyl aceto hydrazide 3. The heterocyclisation of 3 with different aromatic acids in presence of phosphorusoxy chloride yielded target molecules 4a-o. All the compounds were screened for their antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H-37 Rv and antimicrobial activity against different strains of bacteria and fungi.
