摘要
The Kitayama Tunnel is constructed by the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) through urban hills. The earth cover is thin throughout the tunnel alignment. It is necessary to control surface settlements according to the type of land use above the tunnel. The tunnel is stabilized by reinforcing the excavation face, tunnel crown and the foot of top heading, and giving priority to early closing of the ring. Ground stabilization ahead of the excavation face and the early reinforcement at the foot of top heading in particular were found to help control surface settlements.
