摘要
An introduction to augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for children and adolescents with severe spoken-language disorders is presented. Significant advances have been made in assessment and intervention approaches over the last decade. Children with severe disabilities who employ AAC systems can demonstrate communication achievements that exceed traditional expectations.
