摘要：
A simple, convenient, and most useful acid-catalyzed methodology was elaborated for the preparation of beta -thevinone (3a) and beta -dihydrothevinone (3b), which are starting materials of the so-called beta -Bentley-type compounds. The results also provide experimental evidences for the stability of the two pairs of diastereoisomeric ketones (2a-3a and 2b-3b).
