Structural and impedance studies of praseodymium based orthoferrites for solid oxide fuel cells

Impedance analysis was applied to perovskite oxides of Pr(0.8)Sr(0.2)Fe(1-x)CoxO(3) (x = 0 and 1) materials. The single-phase perovskite-based rare earth orthoferrites are made using the sol-gel route. The present sampled are made from a single-phase solid solution of orthorhombic perovskite composition. Structural properties of the indefinite perovskite Pr0.8Sr0.2Fe1-xCoxO3 phase are confirmed by powder XRD. At room temperature, XRD is utilized to resolve the lattice properties (almost 27-30 degrees C). Conductive behavior of the perovskite is discussed with respect to the temperature to frequency and impedance. The impedance decrement shows evidence of the conductivity of the samples. The volume and lattice properties of Fe and Co material increase as these are growing. The diffraction records for highly condensed samples revealed no evidence of Samarium and Strontium order at the A site, nor of oxygen situation ordering at the O sites.
