The aim of the present study is the construction of a sensitive and selective voltammetric sensor for measurement of Dobutamine (DB). For this purpose, a carbon paste electrode was modified with multiwall carbon nanotubes. Cyclic voltammetry of DB at the modified electrode exhibited linear dynamic range in the range of 1.8 x 10(-5) to 1.1 x 10(-3) mol L-1 with a detection limit of 3.1 x 10(-6) molL(-1). The prepared modified electrode was successfully applied for determination of DB in pharmaceutical samples. The diffusion coefficient and the kinetic parameters including electron transfer coefficient and standard rate constant of the electrochemical reaction were determined using electrochemical approaches.
