摘要
Batch sorption studies have been carried out to determine the effects of initial pH and metal concentration on the adsorption of Cr(VI) on Fagus orientalis L. The process was found to be dependent of pH and initial metal concentration. The most effective initial pH was determined to be 1.0 for Cr(VI) ions. The experimental data were analysed using the pseudo-first and pseudo-second order adsorption kinetic models, and kinetic constants were calculated depending on initial pH and Cr(VI) concentration values. The experimental data were fitted by the second order kinetic model, which indicates that chemical adsorption is the rate-limiting step, both for initial pH and initial Cr(VI) level.
