Synthesis and photophysical properties of a ruthenium(II) complex as a precursor of water oxidation catalysts

摘要
A mononuclear [Ru(bpy)(2)-N boolean AND N] complex where bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and N boolean AND N is 6,7-dimethyl-2,3-di(2-pyridyl) quinoxaline was synthesized and studied for electronic absorption, luminescence, electrochem. properties and catalytic activity in O evolution reactions (OER) after addn. of an extra equiv. of Ru(II) ion. The so-formed binuclear Ru [Ru(bpy)(2)-N boolean AND N-Ru] complex showed a greatly enhanced catalytic activity in OER.
