摘要
Information Systems managers are faced with an increasingly difficult choice problem in the evaluation and selection of IS projects. With the increasing reliance of organizations on information systems and decreasing information system development and implementation time, shortening the response time to customers needs and market changes, the task of evaluating and selecting IS project is more complicated than before. Given the limited and scarce resources to develop and implement information systems, managers need to allocate these resources to maintain the competitiveness of their organization. This paper explores the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) for information systems project evaluation and selection. The AHP is a decision-making method for ranking alternative courses of action when multiple criteria must be considered. Since some of the criteria are quantitative and some are qualitative, therefore, the AHP captures both subjective and objective evaluation measures. A hypothetical example is used to demonstrate the evaluation and selection process.
