Laser alloying allows increased hardness and wears resistance of practically all metals and alloys. The structure, phase and chemical composition of the zones of hardening we determined by technological parameters of the process and can be predicted with calculations. During laser alloying of iron-based alloys almost all processes of thermochemical treatment may be employed (nitriding, carburizing, bonding, chromizing, etc.). Laser alloying of aluminum alloys allows hardening zones with a hardening range from 500 to 800 HV, of copper alloys from 400 to 1000 HV and of titanium alloys of up to 1000 HV. /1-3/.
