Two co-crystals of individual isomers of higher fullerenes C76-D2 and C78(2)-C2v with Ag- and Cu-tetraphenylporphyrines were obtained using the temperature difference crystal growth technique and investigated by means of single crystal X-ray analysis. The C-C connectivity of C78(2) as well as its bond ordering have been confirmed crystallographically for the first time. It was demonstrated that metalloporphyrines may serve as a universal co-crystal agent able to orientationally fix pristine higher fullerenes in the crystal lattice.
