摘要
A smartphone based remote colorimetric bioanalytical assay for cardiovascular disease monitoring is proposed and demonstration. The end user only needs to take a photo of Pentraxin 3 reaction product and upload the image to the server by using a customized iOS app and a home-made portable microplate gadget. The image processing, concentration calculation and data recoding are done on the server side. The end user can receive the report immediately. Clinical testing for 40 CVD patient samples is conducted. The testing results obtained by the proposed method agree well with those measured by the commercial plate reader. The compact microplate gadget, user-friendly app, reliable colorimetric analytical algorithm and wireless connection approach make the proposed method a good candidate for point-of-care applications.
