摘要
The paper considers methods for leveling the brightness of side-scan sonar (SSS) echograms in order to obtain sonar images of the seabed that have a uniform density over the entire survey strip. The problem is solved in the context of local bottom objects detection on hydroacoustic images by a human operator or automatic algorithms. The results of known methods of photographic images processing for the purpose of processing echolocation images are presented. A new method for brightness equalizing of echograms is proposed, which has much lower resource intensity in comparison with the known methods for equalizing the brightness in photographic images. The results of comparative experiments using various approaches to solving this problem are presented. The features of the application of a new method for correcting the brightness of echograms are evaluated, taking into account the computational and energy limitations of an autonomous robot.
