摘要
The arrangement of modules with the plume abatement and water saving functions has a great impact on the performance of the mechanical draft wet cooling tower (MCT). The rectangular and rhombus modules are compared by the experiment in this study. The layout of modules in the MCT is divided into single-sided layout and double-sided layout. The ability of MCT to plume abatement, water saving rate, and thermal performance are analyzed. Results show that the MCT with rhombus modules has better ventilation capacity, and that is increased by at least 7.6% compared with the rectangular module. The water saving rate of the rhombus module is at least 5.6% higher than that of installing a rectangular module. After the rhombus module is installed, the temperature and moisture content of air discharged from the MCT decrease amount more than that of the rectangular module, and the plume abatement ability of the rhombic module is better than that of the rectangular module. Compared with the rectangular module, the water temperature drop with the rhombus module is increased by 0.2 degrees C on the single-sided layout module and 0.5 degrees C on the double-sided layout module
