Hetero-bridged dinuclear oxidovanadium(IV) complexes, [(VO)(2){HB(pz}(3)}(2)(mu-OH)(mu-O2CR)] [R = C2H5, 1; (CH3)(3)C, 2; (CH3)(3)CCH2, 3; Ph2CH, 4; Ph3C, 5; PhCH2CH2, and 6; {HB(pz)(3)}(-) = hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate], were synthesized and characterized using X-ray crystallography, infrared spectroscopy, UV-VIS spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. Structure analysis revealed that these complexes adopt a mu-hydroxo-mu-carboxylato hetero-bridged dinuclear structure. Magnetic measurements revealed ferromagnetic interactions (J similar to +20 cm(-1)) between two V(IV) ions.
