Investigation of myocardial lipid peroxidation and myocardial enzyme activity under acute hypobaric hypoxia

In this paper, SeGSHpx, MDA content, SeGSHpx/MDA ratio and several kinds of myocardial enzymes such as CPK, CK-MB, LDH, α-HBD and AST were measured in 39 healthy adult Wistar rats staying at 7500m for 30min in a hypobaric chamber in order to observe the effect of acute hypoxia upon the myocardium and the relationship between lipid peroxidation and myocardial damage. The results showed that activity of myocardial enzymes was raised significantly after acute hypoxia, the difference was remarkable as compared with the control values (P<0.01 or 0.001). Acute hypobaric hypoxia had also some influences on the myocardial SeGSHpx activity, MDA content, and SeGSHpx/MDA ratio.
