摘要
Described are several materials and methods used for the lining of metallurgical furnaces, particularly blast furnaces. The life time of carbon and graphite linings, of linings containing additional refractory materials, and of linings of different design have been examined. Especially the life time is affected by the cooling system. Damages may be repaired by the injection of carbon containing repair compounds. Water-cooled carbon linings increase the life time of main troughes.
