The integration of Common Channel Interoffice Signaling with Stored Program Controlled processors results in the Stored Program Controlled Network with the ability to handle calls and exchange information about the calls rapidly and easily. Current Interstate Inward WATS service operation could be simplified and new capabilities added. Collect and credit card calls could be handled more conveniently. Increased potential for innovative services is anticipated with the need for consistent interface, administration and operation to assure high quality and reliable service.
