After a review of world-wide activities in the next twenty on thirty years, and their relative importance, a description is given of the treatment of radioactive waste in solution in water, and in solid and gaseous form, up to consolidation for storage. Various methods of final storage are examined. The Salzburg, Germany installation is discussed in detail.
