摘要
This article evaluates the preventive maintenance schedule and the overhauling schedule for process/production machinery of a jute factory operating round the clock. The preventive maintenance schedule or, else say, frequency of preventive maintenance for any particular group of machines depends on various factors including work content, availability of relevant spare components, availability of requisite maintenance manpower, time period needed for completion of the said job, availability of appropriate quantity and grade of fluid and grease lubricant and workshop facilities. The overhauling schedule or frequency of overhauling for any particular group of machines depends on the rate of wear of both static and dynamic components and, hence, average minimum life of the same, downtime, product quality, production and productivity.
