Planning is not new to the mental health field and marketing is becoming accepted as an important element of the business. However, few mental health facilities have successfully combined planning and marketing into a comprehensive managerial discipline that approaches the challenges of the 1990s and beyond. This report describes a Florida community mental health center's process of integrating the principles of marketing into the planning process. © 1991 Human Sciences Press, Inc.
