摘要：
The continuous liquid-crystal transitions are shown to be possible in the Landau theory of the second - order phase transitions. The density modulation for such transitions arises as the effect of the second order in the order parameter, i.e., of the correlation function of the density fluctuations. The various structural types as smectics, crystals, incommensurate crystals, and quasicrystals may occur as a function of the continuum character for the Landau expansion invariants.
