摘要
Catalytic hydrogenation of the nitro group of 4-(4-nitrophenyl)quinolin-2(1H)-one (1) gave, without saturation of the C-3 - C-4 double bond, a new representative of 4-arylquinolin-2(1H)-ones: the 4-(4-aminophenyl) derivative 3. The use of this compound as a starting material made possible the syntheses of potentially CNS active 4-alkylaminoacylamino-substituted 4-arylquinolin-2(1H)-ones (6a-d) and related compounds (6e-j).
