(CH3)3IN.1,4-X2C4H8 (WITH X=O, S), 2 STABLE ADDUCTS WITH CHAIN STRUCTURE

摘要
Trimethylindium forms stable, high-melting 1:1 adducts with 1,4-dioxane and 1,4-dithiane, respectively. For both compounds spectroscopic investigations (mass spectrometry, H-1 and C-13 NMR, IR and Raman) indicate chain structures with five-fold coordinated indium atoms in the solid state. The X-ray structure determination of (CH3)3In . S2C4H8 shows infinite chains of nearly planar In(CH3)3 units bridged by the two S atoms of the dithiane ligands. The methyl groups of all trimethylindium moieties of one chain are eclipsed, and the heterocyclic rings have the chair conformation. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1BAR (Z = 2); the structure was refined to an R value of 0.024.
