Child labor in Brazil is a pressing historical challenge of its complete eradication, which as a right injured, directly affects other fundamental rights, such as education, play / leisure, safety, leaving children and adolescents exposed to various situations unfavorable to their Development. The present study seeks to analyze, which conceptions of work and their relationship with play that are presented among children and adolescents participating in an intervention project organized by civil society in the city of Catalao / GO. Addressing child labor as a Brazilian social problem that has been faced, but persists with great personal and social prejudice, making an interface of national reality with local reality. The methodology used was an exploratory and descriptive field research, whose data collection was by semi-structured interview with children and adolescents. The results showed that, despite the advances in Brazilian legislation regarding the rights of children and adolescents and the public policies that unfold it, we still have the discourse of work as the main reference in the formation of good people, justifying the early insertion in the Reflection on the rights that are violated in this process.
