摘要
Polyacrylamide (PAM) and anionic PAM have been generally used as an important papermaking agent as well as flocculating agent because of their low cost. While cationic PAM is known to be more important than the above two, only a few reports concerning the preparation have been published. Related studies on the copolymer of acrylamide and dimethldiallylammonium chloride were also reported. However, no detailed study on the reactivity ratio in the copolymerization has been made, and no reactivity information on the copolymerization of acrylamide and allylamine has been reported. The present paper deals with the reactivity ratios for the copolymerization of these two monomers in aqueous media at different pH values. Experimental data are plotted and evaluated.
