摘要
The concept of added value as applied to acquisitions librarianship is becoming an issue as more libraries are downsizing and otherwise reorganizing their technical services. Acquisitions librarians are beginning to realize they may have to defend or justify their positions and their work in the face of demands to economize. This article analyzes what values are added during the acquisitions process and what role the acquisitions librarian plays in adding such values.
