Residential mortgage lenders and now loan servicers, too, must gear up for compliance with new National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994. The 1994 Act was inserted as Title V of the larger Riegle Community Development and Regulatory Improvement Act of 1994, signed by President Clinton on September 23, 1994. The authors explain the significant new obligations that the Act imposes on lenders and servicers.
