摘要
This paper presents the technical details of a semi-automatic implementation of the ISO Virtual Terminal Protocol using NIST's Estelle tools, PETDINGO, and ISODE fun time library and ASN.1 tool. Technical difficulties incurred in using a combination of different automated tools and development environment are described. Some examples are used to show hom they interface with each other. The difficulties in bridging the gap between protocol specification and implementation decisions are discussed. Finally, the necessity for having a more sophisticated protocol development environment is highlighted.
