摘要：
This article threats the meaning of Monumento to Flags, work of the sculptor Victor Brecheret, inaugurated in 1950, it has been understood in the city today. Installed in the Park of Ibirapuera, during the festivities of the IV Centenary of the Capital, the work celebrated the bandeirante, a significant character to history, currently, distant of the moment of its conception, the sculpture has been taken other meanings in the country, but it does not lose the momentousness to paulista memory.
