The explicit digital simulation technique is applied to anodic stripping film mercury amalgam electrodes. Both reversible and irreversible electrochemical charge transfer processes are considered. In the first case the results are compared with the analytical solutions as well as with previous simulations. Also a working curve is given which allows to predict the peak currents for different experimental conditions. The case of repetitive sweeps is also analyzed. The voltammetric ac response both for the fundamental and second harmonic was calculated employing the heterogeneous method proposed by previous workers. The second harmonic response would allow to obtain directly the relative thickness of the film.
