摘要
We have examined the effect of alcohols and chloroform on the substitution of ligands by trifluoroacetylacetone in tris(acetylacetonato) Fe(III). Alcohols appear to increase the reaction rate considerably, while chloroform catalyzes the reaction only slightly. Alcohols and chloroform enter the outer-sphere of tris(acetylacetonato)iron (III) via hydrogen bonds, thus weakening the Fe-O bond and promote the substitution of one ligand by another.
