A new species of diplocentrid scorpion is described from the Mexican states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Sonora. This represents the first record of Diplocentrus from the western side of the Sierra Madre Occidental. The new species is compared to several taxa in central and southern Mexico as well as to the species in Baja California del Sur.
